A perfect moment and exploring creativity

I believe that a blogger is a frustrated novelist at heart-at least that seems to fit me. Creativity is a skill that must be practiced to be developed so this will be a forum to help me expand and explore my creative soul.

My brother plays sax in a dance band in California called Clean State. I hung with him earlier this year at an Autumn Festival to listen to him play. They usually play uptempo songs to get people dancing and I enjoyed watching the crazy ladies dressed in colorful costumes dancing to the band.
Clean Slate switched to a few slow sets-they played a TOP song "You're Still a Young Man". I was kicked back on a hay bale, bathed in sunshine. Next to me was a guy in his folding lounge chair-he looked to be camped out for the day, quite comfy with his feet propped on a bale. Two puppies wrestled in the straw a few bales away. Dads danced with their young costumed daughters in their arms.

For 2 songs I felt a deep inner peace envelop me-it was both renewing and sad to think that the simple pleasures still existed, yet it also seemed so fragile and fleeting. This was a feeling that you can't actively search out-it comes when you aren't expecting it. I will try to to keep myself open to it again as I explore the things that I love in life-my family, my pets and gardens, my friends and the crafts that keep my mind and hands busy.
